The 91制片厂 Fire Training Program within Continuing Professional Education (CPE) offers courses that meet the requirements of the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). All courses are offered in person and are taught by experienced fire service professionals. To enroll, students must meet the OSFM's eligibility requirements. Current offerings include:
Learn about the history of the fire service, organization of fire departments, career pathways in fire and EMS and more. Participants will also explore fire behavior and try on firefighting gear at the end of the course. This course is open to the public and those who complete successfully may be able to apply this toward a 91制片厂 certificate or degree through Credit for Prior Learning.
This course gives participants the knowledge and skills to teach within the field of fire and emergency services. Meets and exceeds the requirements outlined by the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal 鈥淥SFM鈥. This course covers the fundamentals of instruction methods, learning processes, communications, lesson plans, safety, and evaluation in the learning process as defined by NFPA 1041, and serves as a prerequisite for Fire Service Instructor II. Those who complete this course successfully may be able to earn credit through the Credit for Prior Learning program.

This course provides advanced instruction to individuals in the fire and emergency services. Meets and exceeds the requirements outlined by the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal (鈥淥SFM鈥) and NFPA 1041. Introduces advanced instructional skills necessary to teach fire and emergency services personnel. Student鈥檚 will be familiarized with behavioral objectives, cognitive, psychomotor skills, teaching methods and applications in training sessions. This course also covers training records, reports, and the development and administration of evaluation instruments. Successful completion is required of prerequisite for enrollment: Fire Service Instructor I.

This course meets and exceeds the requirements outlined by the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal 鈥淥SFM鈥 and provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to perform as an Incident Safety Officer (ISO), as defined by NFPA 1521. Students will be provided with a foundation of knowledge and understanding of safety as applied to emergency services. This course examines the need for safety in the everyday performance of all aspects of their jobs and gain an understanding of the essential elements needed to reduce accidents and injuries. Students will learn how to monitor and report various types of emergency incidents including Fire, EMS, Technical Rescue, and Hazardous Materials scenes. Those who complete this course successfully may be able to earn credit through the Credit for Prior Learning program.

Elevate your leadership in the fire service with our Company Fire Officer (COFO) course. Gain a solid grasp of crucial principles in fire service management and leadership at the Company Officer level. Topics include leadership, management, communication, risk management, and emergency planning. Learn to supervise and manage a fire company or station, and how to make effective decisions in emergency situations.
