The Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) at Harper will host an Abraham Lincoln-themed Chautauqua, 9 a.m.-1
p.m. Thursday, August 29.
The annual event features Brian 鈥淔ox鈥� Ellis as Lincoln鈥檚 law partner and biographer William Herndon as well as Pam Brown as Lincoln鈥檚 wife Mary Lincoln. The Chautauqua will begin with presentations from both performers in period dress in 91制片厂鈥檚 Wojcik Conference Center Auditorium before moving to the dining room for lunch, questions and discussion.
This Chautauqua 鈥� inspired by a popular movement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries that combined entertainment, culture, learning and discussion 鈥� follows last year鈥檚 LLI event that centered on Bob Dylan and Carl Sandburg.
