91ÖÆƬ³§'s Veterans Center officially dedicated

Veterans Ribbon Cutting91ÖÆƬ³§ held a ribbon cutting ceremony on February 8 to officially dedicate the new Center for Student Veterans and Military-Connected Students and recognize the College’s ongoing efforts to expand services aimed at increasing student veterans’ success.

The center opened last year with the help of an anonymous $80,000 grant supporting the College’s work and a $10,000 grant from The Home Depot Foundation and Student Veterans of America to transform the space.

As a result of 91ÖÆƬ³§â€™s increased commitment to better serving this population of students, there has been a significant increase in credentials earned among student veterans and military-connected students. The new center also drew more than 500 visits last semester from students seeking specialized services, support or just a space to gather socially.

Activities geared toward engaging veterans have included resume writing and interview workshops, community service projects and attendance at the Student Veterans of America national conference.

91ÖÆƬ³§ also recently earned the 2017-2018 designation, a comprehensive resource provided to service members and their families to help them select an institution that will best help them pursue a civilian career.
