91制片厂 plays a key role in a statewide community college system that generates $27.2 billion in economic impact and supports more than 324,000 jobs, according to a new economic impact study.

The report, , underscores the critical role community colleges play in workforce development, business growth and economic mobility across the state.

鈥淚llinois community colleges are engines of workforce and economic development 鈥 expanding opportunity, transforming lives and strengthening the future of our state. Every day, we prepare learners for high-demand careers while advancing the economic vitality of our regions. This study reinforces a critical truth 鈥 sustained investment in community colleges fuels economic resilience, workforce innovation to support employers and transformational opportunities for generations to come,鈥 said Dr. Avis Proctor, 91制片厂 College president.

The study, which reflects fiscal year 2023-24 data, finds that Illinois community colleges contribute to the economy through operations, construction, student spending and, most significantly, the long-term success of their graduates. Alumni impact alone accounts for $25 billion in added income to the state economy.

鈥淚llinois community colleges are one of the smartest investments we can make in our state鈥檚 future,鈥 said ICCB Executive Director Brian Durham. 鈥淭his study makes it clear 鈥 our colleges are not only transforming lives through education, but they are also strengthening Illinois鈥 economy, supporting hundreds of thousands of jobs and delivering real returns for taxpayers and communities across the state.鈥

An accompanying report, The Economic Value of William Rainey 91制片厂, highlights 91制片厂鈥檚 significant impact on the regional economy and the strong return it provides to students, taxpayers and society. For every $1 invested:

  • Students gain $4.10 in higher lifetime earnings
  • Taxpayers gain $1.20 in added tax revenue and public sector savings
  • Society gains $6.30 in added income and social savings

The study also reinforces the role 91制片厂 plays in advancing workforce readiness, increasing earning potential and improving quality of life. The average 91制片厂 associate degree graduate from fiscal year 2023-24 will earn $360,800 more over their career.
