Tuesday brought us to Kampala, to the Uganda Museum, and to one of our most anticipated destinations 鈥� Uganda鈥檚 center of higher education and East Africa鈥檚 oldest, Makerere University. Our plan was to form working relationships with members of Uganda鈥檚 academic community whose roles in the university, areas of expertise, and research interests could give us the chance to form partnerships with African colleagues, to the benefit of both institutions鈥� students and faculty. Giving Comes Full Circle

The Marchiori Scholarship was established by Joe in 1989 to honor the memory of Sharlene Marchiori鈥攚ife, mother of five children, former 91制片厂 student, and active parent within the District 211 schools, where Joe served on the board for nearly 18 years. Sharlene believed deeply in helping others. When she lost her life to leukemia, the scholarship was initiated by the Marchiori family to pay tribute to all nurses. Read More
