Football Videos Digitization Project

91ÖÆƬ³§ has a unique collection of historical material relating to the college's own football program and community college football within the Midwest. This collection underscores that football was long an integral part of 91ÖÆƬ³§'s history and that of the surrounding region. The central project objective is to improve access to the 91ÖÆƬ³§ Athletic Department historical football videos through digitization. Access copies of the digitized files will be made available to the public through our website.

The 91ÖÆƬ³§ Archives has a significant assortment of films, videotapes, and DVDs of the football program from 1973 to 2011 in the 91ÖÆƬ³§ Athletic Department Collection and other Special Collections. The audiovisual portion of the collection has 92 films, 371 videotapes, 12 DVDS, and 10 microcassettes. The fragile nature of this material makes their conversion to a digital format a priority.

Please note that because of the larger number of films/videos and their individual file sizes, not all videos will immediatley be made available. Please see the below link for those videos that have been uploaded for public access. More research guidance and search tips will be added to this project page to assist you with finding your desired videos. The target audience for this project is anyone interested generally in the history of community college football and specifically the history of football at 91ÖÆƬ³§.

*Please note, we are currently going through a software transition and some of these items are temporarily unavailable. Our new software will allow for an increase in storage to make MORE of the football videos available for access and download. Estimated completion is Spring 2026. If you need assistance in accessing material that is no longer digitally available during transition, please contact the Archivist for assistance at archives@harpercollege.edu.
