Residency requirements

A student who has resided within Illinois and the 91制片厂 District 512, thirty days immediately prior to the start of the term, is eligible to be classified as a resident student for tuition calculation purposes.

Residency requirements may differ for limited enrollment program admission. Proof of residence status is required at the time of registration. Proof of residence can include a driver's license, state ID, or a current (within 30 days) bank statement, cell phone, utility, or credit card bill.

Students shall be classified as residents of 91制片厂 District 512 without meeting the 30-day residency requirement of the district if they are currently residing in the district and are youth:

  • who are currently under the legal guardianship of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services or have recently been emancipated from the Department, and
  • who had a placement change into a new community college district. The student, a caseworker or other personnel of DCFS, or the student鈥檚 attorney or guardian ad litem appointed under the Juvenile Court Act of 1987 shall provide the district with proof of current in-district residency.

Students shall also be classified as residents of 91制片厂 District 512 without meeting the 30-day residency requirement of the district for tuition purposes if they are members of the armed forces on active duty or are individuals entitled to assistance as described in 38 U.S.C. 3679(c).

Students shall not be classified as residents of the district where attending, even though they may have met the general 30-day residency provision, if they are:

  • Federal job corps workers stationed in the 91制片厂 District;
  • Inmates of state or federal correctional/rehabilitation institutions located in the 91制片厂 District;
  • Full-time students attending a post-secondary educational institution in the 91制片厂 District who have not demonstrated, through documentation, a verifiable interest in establishing permanent residency;
  • Students attending under the provisions of a chargeback or contractual agreement with another community college.

A permanent resident is defined as an individual who:

  1. is a citizen of the United States or has established permanent residence (holds an I-551 alien registration card) and
  2. resides in the 91制片厂 district for reasons other than attending 91制片厂.

The Registrar's Office shall make the final determination of permanent residency status.

A student who has resided in Illinois, but outside the 91制片厂 district, for thirty days immediately prior to the start of the term shall be classified as a non-resident student.

Students shall be classified as residents of the State without meeting the general 30-day residency provision if they are:

  • Federal job corps workers stationed in Illinois;
  • Inmates of state correctional/rehabilitation institutions located in Illinois; or
  • Employed full-time in Illinois.

A student who has resided in Illinois for fewer than thirty days immediately prior to the start of the term shall be classified as an out-of-state student. Students who move from outside the state or district and who obtain residence in the state or 91制片厂 district for reasons other than attending the community college shall be exempt from the thirty day requirement if they demonstrate through documentation a verifiable interest in establishing permanent residency. The Registrar's Office shall make the final determination of residency status for tuition purposes.

A student whose permanent residence is outside the United States and is attending 91制片厂 on an F1 visa shall be classified as an international student.
