New Student Programs

Access and Disability Services is committed to easing the transition from high school to college for new students at 91ÖÆÆ¬³§. Below are a few programs that are run through our office that offer some extra support to students that are registered within our office:

New for the 2025-2026 academic year, the Infinity Initiative for Neurodiverse Students (formerly known as the TAP and ACES Programs) is designed to support neurodivergent students as they transition from high school to college and work towards a degree or certificate at 91ÖÆÆ¬³§. The IINS program provides academic support for students with autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.

The IINS Program includes:

  • Dedicated IINS student orientation session
  • Summer Transition Workshops
  • Kick-off event with IINS Students and their parents/guardians before classes start
  • FYS 101 - 3 credit hour Start Smart Course with IINS Cohort
  • Monthly coaching meetings with Access Advocate
  • Access to a dedicated Executive Functioning Coach to develop skills in time management, organization, task initiation, focus, and self-regulation
  • Participation in at least two hours of supervised study each week
  • Peer Mentoring
  • Monthly workshops on academic success strategies, job readiness skills, and healthy relationships
  • Assignment to an Academic Advisor who has been trained to encourage neurodivergent students to succeed academically and complete their degree or certificate program
  • Opportunity for participation in ADS Success Club
  • Parent/family events

Admission: IINS is a limited enrollment program, with a maximum of 40 students accepted each fall semester. The ADS Office reserves the right to determine if a student is admitted into the program.
Application Deadline: The application for the Fall 2026 Cohort is open; the deadline to apply is 7/18/26. Admission is granted on a rolling basis. Interested students are encouraged to apply early.

  3. for the Fall 2026 Cohort
  4. Submit ACT/SAT scores to 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ and/or complete required placement tests.
  5. Submit high school transcript with a 2.75 out of 4.0 cumulative GPA or higher. Unofficial transcripts are accepted and can be sent to processing@harpercollege.edu.
  6. Contact the ADS Office at 847.925.6266 to schedule an Intake Appointment.
  7. Complete Interview with IINS Coordinators.

The College Awareness Program (CAP) is a transition program designed for high school seniors with disabilities. Its mission is to reach students within the 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ district and inform them of the accommodations and programs available through ADS, and the benefits of attending a local college. The College Awareness Program helps students become familiar with the campus and prepares them for college life.
