The Academic ESL program is tuition-based. The cost varies depending on where you live and the total number of credits you register for. Different classes have different credit amounts.

91制片厂's Business Ed Vantage program allows students who live outside of 91制片厂's district, but work at an in-district organization, to take college credit courses at in-district rates. Make sure to review the program requirements.
In-person verification for new or current 91制片厂 students can be done at the Registration Office, Building A, Room A213. A most-recent paystub must be provided to verify current employment.You must repeat this process every semester you take a class.

Make your appointment online on the My91制片厂 Student Portal under the "For ESL Students" card. Here are the instructions on how to schedule a testing appointment (new tab). Testing is done in-person on 91制片厂's main campus.
After booking your ESL testing appointment, you will receive a confirmation email to your student email, not your personal email. Make sure you have access to your student portal and student email before your testing appointment.
No; in order to register for any ESL courses, you must take the ESL test NOT the English placement test. The ESL test is only offered in-person in Building D. Please see step two in our ESL registration process (new window) to schedule your appointment.
Your acceptance letter contains your username and 91制片厂 ID number. Your 91制片厂 ID number starts with H00 along with six-digit numbers (ex: H00123456). Your student portal also contains your 91制片厂 ID number under 鈥淰iew Profile鈥�. If you are having trouble locating your 91制片厂 ID number, please contact our Admission office on 847-925-6227.

New ESL Students: You can register for any open ESL course once open registration starts for the semester you applied to. You can only register before the class starts; once the class begins, the system will not allow new students to register. Please refer to Register for Credit Class webpage (new window) to see when open registration will begin.
Current ESL Students: Registration dates vary depending on a few different things, like the number of classes you have already taken. Visit our Register for Credit Classes webpage (new window) to check when you can register for your classes. You will also receive an email with your registration date.
You can register on your own through your student portal. Here are the instructions on how to register (new window). If you encounter any issues or need assistance, please visit the One Stop in Building A, room A250, for assistance.
If you wish to register for a class that has already started, you will need to email the professor of the class you want to register for, and request permission. It is the professor's decision whether to accept late-start students. If the professor allows you to join their class, they will notify the Registrar's office, which will handle your registration. Once registered, the Registrar's office will inform you via student email.
If a class is full, you can add your name to the waitlist. Please note that being on the waitlist does not guarantee admission; the professor makes the final decision. If the professor agrees to add additional students, you will receive an email invitation from the Registrar office, that you must reply and confirm within 24 hours. If you do not confirm within 24 hours, you will be removed from the waitlist, and the invitation will be offered to the next student on the list.
After registering, you have seven days to pay in full or select a payment plan. If you do not pay within seven days, your courses will be removed from your account. If your courses are removed due to nonpayment, you will need to re-register and pay.
If you plan to use financial aid (FAFSA), make sure your aid is activated before you register for classes. Please contact One Stop (new window) for any questions about your financial aid.

Yes, students may use financial aid to help cover the cost of their ESL courses, as long as they are degree-seeking students. Financial aid covers up to 30 credits for developmental courses, and ESL courses are considered developmental. Once 测辞耻鈥檝别 used all 30 credits for ESL or any other developmental course(s), you will need to pay out of pocket.For more information, please visit ourFinancial Aid and Scholarship website (new window).
If you, the student, decide not to attend classes, it is your responsibility to officially drop or withdraw from your class(es) by the published deadline. If you do not officially drop or withdraw for the class(es) listed on your registration confirmation statement, you will be responsible for tuition and fees for that semester.

There is a $15 non-refundable registration fee. You can check the last refund date on our Tuition Refund website, or by viewing your class schedule in your student portal.

Yes. If you are at level 2 through 4 in Reading and/or Writing, you must pass with a 鈥淐鈥� or higher. If you are at level 5 in Reading and/or Writing, you must pass with a 鈥淏鈥� or higher. If you do not pass your Reading and/or Writing course, you will need to retake it until you do.
ESL students who have not taken the English placement test have the option to take the English placement test. Based on the results, you may be able to exit the Academic ESL program or be required to complete your ESL requirements. Please refer to our English placement webpage (new window) for more information and see our placement grid.
If 测辞耻鈥檝别 already taken the English placement test, your score must expire before you can retake it. The English placement test is valid for three years from the day and month you took the test. You won鈥檛 be able to retake it if your current placement result hasn鈥檛 expired.
To take non-ESL courses while enrolled in ESL, you must be at Level 4 and/or 5 in both reading and writing. You鈥檒l need to meet with an ESL advisor to plan and get approval to take non-ESL courses. You will need to repeat this process every semester until you have completed your ESL requirements.
If you choose to take non-ESL courses, you must continue taking your ESL courses until you complete your ESL requirements and exit the program.
After you take the ESL test, you鈥檒l meet with an ESL professor to review your results and discuss which classes you can take. You鈥檒l receive a packet that includes your reading and writing levels, and from there you can see which current and future classes you鈥檒l need to take.
You will need to take the ESL test in-person first. Then, once you register for your online courses, you will need to contact the Student Service Desk (new window) to allow your student account to work outside the U.S.

Your employer should have provided you with instructions on what you need to do for them to pay for your classes. Each company has its own procedures for paying their employees鈥� education. Please speak with your manager if you have any questions.
If you are in Level 2 or 3 in reading and/or writing: No. You鈥檒l need to move up to Level 4 or 5 in both reading and/or writing before you can start taking non-ESL courses. Once you reach Level 4 and/or 5, you can meet with the advisor.
If you are in Level 4 or 5 in Reading and Writing: Yes, you can meet with the advisor.
